If you are looking to rent a property KHP are here to help. The rental market does move quickly so our advice is to make sure you have everything in place so that when you see a property you like you are ready to take it. You should start looking around a month to two months prior to needing accommodation.

Once you have a found a property, to move forward and apply for it you will need to complete a KHP application form and supply a form of photo ID (preferably a passport).
Please see Our Fees page for exact details of all permitted payments for a tenant.

If the landlord is happy with your application you will be asked to lodge a holding deposit equivilant to one week’s rent. This will hold the property for you whilst our reference checks are conducted. You will then be required to fill out an online form for our referencing agency.

The referencing process should take up to a week however please allow time as delays can occur do to individual circumstances. Once completed and signed off by the landlord, we can then agree a moving in date with you, draw up your contract and invite you in to sign. Full move in money (i.e. first month’s rent and deposit/deposit replacement) must be received before the commencement date.

The deposit is equal to 5 week’s rent. Your tenancy will be on an Assured Shorthold tenancy agreement, meaning a monthly rolling contract in line with The Renter’s Right’s Act 2026. This allows flexibility for tenants to give two months’ notice at any point in line with their rental payment date. Landlords are required to give 4 months’ notice.
